My decade in review: 2010 - 2020

OK, so I know it's a bit late in January to be doing this, but I thought that I would regret it in the future if i didn't - as I love to look back on these things and have a lil walk down memory lane. Just a warning though... it's a long one, so you might need a cup of tea before you start... The reason it's taken me so long to sit down and write it out is because, the end of 2019, and the start of 2020 so far have been SO busy - you will be able to see why further on in this post... I'm glad I managed to post it in January... Just... As I stared to look back I realised I had written quite a few previous posts about my life events, so there are a plethora of them linked below too.

2010

I can barely remember this year, I had to use a lot of Facebook memories and LinkedIn to work out what I was actually doing - am I the only one who struggles to look back 10 years?

  • I started my second year of college that year and met my now fiance, Ted, on the school bus (lol). There were also many college photoshoots (lol again) and I also 'starred' in a music video for my college media project.
  • Oh, I nearly forgot this one, I turned 18 that year and hired a local pub for a Willy Wonker themed birthday party.

2011

  • This year I finished college and started university studying Advertising.
  • Moved away from home for the first time and went on my first friends trip abroad to Corfu.

2012

  • This year I started blogging (If you want to read my very cringe-y first post you can find it here)
  • I moved into a uni with 6 boys (and everyone thought I was crazy)
  • In the summer, I went on my first trip to Sweden for 2 weeks.

2013

  • This year was a busy year, as I moved to Devon for 3 months for a marketing internship - I have a few posts on this so I have link them hereherehere and here if you're interested.
  • I went to Venice for my 21st birthday! I have done a separate blog post if you would like to read more about that here.
  • I also went to my first music festival and worked on the champagne bar with a friend, this must have been when my blogging picked up as I also did a post about this here.

2014

  • Ted and I moved to our first flat together in Reading!
  • I graduated from university with a First and I started my first job out of university in Marketing.

2015

  • We hosted our first New Years party at our Reading flat (which we have now done consistently every year since) and one of my best friends got married.
  • I started my first Marketing agency job.
  • I went on a friends trip to Amsterdam for the first time and in the winter did a joint birthday trip, with one of my best friends, to Prague.

2016

  • I went on ANOTHER friends trip, to Somerset.
  • Was a bridesmaid at one of my best friends weddings in Italy, and went to Henley Regatta for the first time.
  • Moved to Shoreditch in London - I did a little posts about that here and a few other posts relating to my time in East London here and here.
  • I celebrated my birthday at Sketch, and you guessed it, you can read the post here.
  • Found out that I was getting a cat for Christmas!

2017

  • This was another busy year, at the beginning of the year Sprout turned up!
  • It didn't start so good though as I had Costochondritis for the first 3 months and fractured a rib.
  • But luckily, by the summer I got better and we went on a group trip to Corfu and visited Kew Garden for the first time - you can read the post here if you're interested on what we did at Kew.
  • Went to Edinburgh Fridge for the first time.
  • Celebrated a friends birthday on a boat on the Thames.
  • At the beginning of Winter we moved to Kensington (find a post about that flat here).
  • Then, for or my birthday I went back to Amsterdam for the second time, this time with Ted.
  • Ended the year with a work Christmas party trip to Lille.

2018

  • Went on a another friends trip to Corfu.
  • Got a promotion.
  • Celebrated Ted's birthday in Ireland.
  • Went on my first Ski trip and found out I'm terrible at Skiing.
  • Went on a weekend away to Paris and ate bread and cheese all week.
  • Celebrated my Birthday with a weekend in Cheltenham (we stayed at No.38 The Park and deffo recommend if you're staying in Cheltenham)
  • And finally,  just generally ate my way through London.

2019

  • We celebrated our 8 year anniversary at Sushi Samba in Covent Garden (it's not worth it, don't go)
  • Went on another ski trip to Chamonix (where I spent more time in the spa than on the slopes)
  • I got a promotion.
  • Visited the London Sea Life Centre (don't judge me)
  • We moved to Sweden! And of course, you can find my post about moving to Sweden here.
  • Celebrated our first Midsummer and New Years in Sweden.
  • I quit my job, became a freelancer, and won an award for a campaign I ran.
  • We got engaged and celebrated with our first Swedish crayfish party.
  • Then finally, we bought a house!

Jan 2020 so far...

So far this year we have started renovating the new house, and are half way through planning a wedding for this Summer - hence why I have only just got around to writing this post.
I hope you liked my year in review, If you've done anything similar please feel free to post it below/send it to me to read as I'm nosy...
