Embroidered dresses, kittens and other things I love this week
Yesterday, a friend and I spent the day looking for the pastel tiled wall at Sugarhouse Studios to use in some blog pics, however, after a short walk around Bermondsey we were unsuccessful and settled with the above wall; it wasn't quite as picturesque, but it did the job. We then headed into Notting Hill for some lunch and 'sightseeing' aka looking at pretty houses. Which brings me onto my first love of the week...
Moving to London, hygge and other things I love this week.
As you have probably guessed from the title, I have moved to London! We decided to pack up and leave our little flat in Reading in search of a central one in the big smoke, which so far has been great! We took the week off work to explore - which has inspired my first love(s) of the week:
Brick Lane has to be one of my favourite parts of London - mostly because of the amazing graffiti that is ever changing - but also because of the amazing variety of street food, vintage clothes and coffee you can get at the markets.
I haven't found anything wrong with this oil so far and it has been my go-to product now the weather is getting colder. It smells GREAT, and can be used to moisturise body, hair and face. I must admit that I was a bit dubious to use it on my hair, but if you only use a little bit it leaves your hair soft and shiny - I can see this being a firm favourite throughout winter.

1. Scandi Kitchen
The Scandi Kitchen is a cute little Scandinavian restaurant and shop just off of Oxford Street that serves (you guessed it) scandi food - Swedish, Finnish, Norwegian and Danish. A great place to pop into if you are looking for a delicious open sandwich or some Julmust.

3. The Little Book of Hygge
I actually picked this up a month ago at the supermarket but have only just started reading it. I am fascinated by the concept of hygge, especially now it's starting to get colder, and this book gives a great little introduction to it. If you don't know what hygge is, to put it simply, it is a Danish concept that represents the feeling of cosiness, well being and happiness - what's not to like?
4. Nuxe Multi-Purpose Dry Oil
I haven't found anything wrong with this oil so far and it has been my go-to product now the weather is getting colder. It smells GREAT, and can be used to moisturise body, hair and face. 5. REN Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask
Another firm favourite is the REN radiance renewal mask - I only picked up a travel size from M&S as it the full size is quite pricey, however, I think I will HAVE to purchase the full size as this, dare I say it, has been the best mask I have ever used; it doesn't dry out my skin and doesn't break me out either and it leaves it well... renewed.

Things that make me happy - November (2014)
Liz Earle, HomeSense and other things I love this week.
I haven't done one of my 'loves of the week' for a while (read my last one here), so I thought the new year would be a great time to restart. Here it goes...
My first love of the week is this cashmere scarf (pictured above), I got it new from Ebay for a bargainous price; I haven't taken it off all week.

My second love of the week is not only this Tobacco & Oak candle, but also the shop I bought it from- Homesense. I went in for a new home haul this week as everything in there is so reasonably priced and generally really good quality. I got this candle for £7, along with a few others and they smell soooo good!
My last loves are of the beauty variety.
Firstly is the Neal's Yard Rejuvenating Frankincense Facial Oil: I got this for Christmas and just love using it as a treat for my skin.
Second in the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish: I've heard so much about this and finally caved; I'm glad I did. It's so gentle to sensitive skin, I even used it when I had a sore nose (from a cold) and it didn't sting at all, unlike everything else I used (even water). On a side note, It does smell a bit like vapour rub.
My very last love for this week is the L'Oreal True Match Foundation in Rose Ivory (C1). I've heard both good and bad reviews of this but I finally decided to give the colour-matching a go! As I've mentioned previously I have really pale skin and find it hard to find foundations to match. This really does match mine perfectly and leaves a nice matte finish.

Things That Made Me Happy - November
Ok, I know it's already a week into December; I have been so busy moving into a new apartment this week (a post on this to come) that I haven't had time to write until now.
Here are the things that have made me happy in my past - very busy! - month. The month of November.
1) First and foremost: Arranging the move into my new home
2) Graduating with a first class degree!
3) Catching up with friends - something I don't get to do as often as I would like
4) Food! Who doesn't feel better after some good food?
5) Bonfire/fireworks night
6) Celebrating my 22nd birthday!
7) And lastly: Giant sized showers - mine was in a hotel room I stayed in; the tiles slightly reminded me of the Ministry of Magic, which just added to the whole experience.

Five Favourites for Fall
Okay, these are not technically favourites for fall, but I just couldn't resist some alliteration - they are actually some favourite things I have accumulated through fall - but that doesn't sound as catchy does it?
I must admit I have gone a bit Primark crazy this month, therefore 2 of my 5 favourites are from Primark. Firstly, the running leggings; I must admit I was tempted by the £30 Nike leggings, but these were only £9 and are basically the same (albeit, can be a bit see-through in certain light, as I found out last night at the gym).
The second thing I got from Primark was the small black bowler bag, it was £6! and really good quality for the price, I can see this being a staple within my autumn/winter wardrobe.
My third favourite is The Rosie Project - I saw the second book The Rosie Effect in a book haul on YouTube by Giovanna Fletcher and it sounded interesting, therefore I naturally bought the first book to read beforehand and I'm loving it at the moment.
My fourth favourite is Vichy Normaderm Night Detox - I went to repurchase the Vichy Normadern Nuit (as mentioned in my previous posts here and here) but it seems to have been discontinued, therefore I went for this one, which seems to be a re-branded version of the Normaderm Nuit. I must admit I prefer the older formula, but this is still very good.
My last favourite is the St. Ives Daily Microdermabrasion, I don't generally like scrub-like things, but this has a very fine texture so is good for my thin, sensitive skin.

Fairy lights, face masks and other things I love this week.
I haven't done a post about my 'loves of the week' in a while; therefore thought I would share with you my top five of this week. After all, my blog isn't called 'Sophie M Loves' for nothing..
My first love of the week are these shoes I picked up in Primark. They haven't really been appropriate for the current weather; torrential rain, but I thought they were too cute not to pick up!
My second love of the week is my DIY brush/makeup jar. I made this after my favourite candle burnt out. It's such an inexpensive, and cute, way to hold your makeup brushes. I will definitely start doing this more often!
This Una Brennan, Superfacialist Pore Purifying Clay Mask makes my face feel clean and fresh without drying it out.

My Winter Favourites
Here are a few of my favourite items that have made my winter a little easier.
Cocoa Butter lip balm - I got this for Christmas from a friend and it smells soo good! It also moisturises your lips well.
Revlon lip butter in Candy Apple - This is good as it moisturises, as well as, adding a bit colour on your lips; perfect for the cold weather.
Assie 3 Minute Miracle conditioner - This is perfect for adding moisture back into dry, split ends.
1984 by George Orwell - I've been wanting to read this for a while as I had heard a lot about it; it is also a classic. I'm enjoying it a lot so far.
New Look boots - These are what I have been wearing non-stop during winter, hence the reason they're muddy and worn (sorry). They're also pretty reasonable at £25. See them on in my Feelin' Festive outfit post here.
Cath Kiston Bag - My housemates got me this for my birthday. It's so useful as a weekend bag or for carrying books to uni.
Ukelele - I was given this for Christmas and was so excited as I've wanted one for a while; it's on my 2014 to-do list to learn how to play fluently.

My bed and other things I love this week
This week has been a lazy one. Just sitting around mostly watching Keeping up with the Kardashians in my pyjamas, maybe a bit of sunbathing in the garden here and there, but what is the summer for aye?

I bought this at the beginning of the year as I decided I wanted needed a watch. Most things I buy I usually get bored of within a week and decide I don't like anymore, only for it to then get thrown into a drawer never to be seen again. But this was different, for once I have actually found something that I have to wear everyday or I get a bit lost without it - fingers cross this will last.
As the Summer weather becomes more prevalent out come the freshly cut flowers. Any room (in my opinion) becomes instantly better when brightened up with flowers.
Dexter is a labradoodle (labrador cross poodle if you didn't know) who is our family pet at home in East Sussex. Most of the time he's pretty annoying, but I guess he can be cute sometimes...
