Ok, so if you've read my previous post I'm not quote a local to East London anymore, however, previous to moving to the west I lived on Brick Lane in Shoreditch for a year. During my time in East London I kept a (mental) list of my favourite places to go. And luckily, I had a few pictures on my phone to go with it... please be warned that it is mainly food based.
Morning/Breakfast Favourites
Columbia Road Flower Market - Bethnal Green
One of the most fun, but also hectic flowers markets in London. They do pretty much any flower you could need. Top tip: it's open 8am - 3pm, however, get there before 9am to avoid the crowds.
Slightly overpriced, however is a fun experience if you're into nostalgic and creative cereals. They have everything from Lucky Charms to Homer's Cinnamon Donut cereal with every type of milk.

Daytime Favourites
A great little pit stop if you're in the area and need to see some cute animals (it's also free).

Haggerston Park - Hackney
Next to the City Farm, is a great place to chill in the summer and look at the blossom trees.

Campania for lunch - Bethnal green
This is a little Italian restaurant hidden away on Columbia road, the interiors remind me of a rundown farm house with their wooden tables and brick walls - in a good way. They also do a great brunch...

DF Mexico - Spitalfields
"Industrial-chic" tacos as described on Google. If you're looking for a quick simple lunch then this is the place. They give a modern twist to all of the classics - see their menu here.

Spitalfields Market for some shopping and The Old Truman Brewery for random events.
There are a wide range of market stools around The Old Truman Brewery and Spitalfields, and most weekends you can find an event taking place, ranging from pop ups (we once did a whiskey blending there), to trade shows and catwalks. The graffiti in the area is also work checking out.

Evening/Dinner Favourites
Blachette - Brick Lane
Also has a restaurant in Soho, however, the original and best for me is the Brick Lane one. Great for just a glass of wine and a cheese board or for a full dinner. They offer French sharing plates with a North African twist, in a cosy interior.
It's usually pretty busy and the queue can be up to a 30 minutes wait on some nights. However, the no-frills Punjabi-Pakistani food (and prices) are well worth the wait - and it's BYOB.
Beigel Bake bagel shop -Brick Lane
They are open 24 hours, so perfect if you're peckish at 1am and fancy a smoked salmon bagel for around £2, but most people visit for the hot salt beef bagel that they're famous for.
What's your favourite place to visit in East London?
