The big 2 1 - Venice

It was my 21st birthday a couple of weeks ago (the 11th), and boyfriend surprised me with a weekend away to Venice!


Venice blew me away, literally (sorry for the cheesy joke). In all seriousness it was the most beautiful place I have ever been! We spent the first day recovering from our overnight flight at the hotel, and going out to sample the local cuisine. The second day was lovely and sunny, despite the forecast of rain; the third day not so much. Which meant we got to see Venice in two very different lights.


The second day we visited St Marks square, and just wandered around generally, my favourite part was seeing an art exhibition on work by Richard Mosse. If you don't know his work, you can look at some here. 





Early evening we had a beautiful gondola ride. 


After we went back to the hotel to get ready for dinner...



Naturally we had Chinese food. But don't worry, the other few days we manage to have Italian. 




The third day was a pretty wet one, but we had a lot of fun exploring nevertheless.  






After the day was up we, sadly, went to catch the coach to the airport ready for our 9 pm flight.
